It’s not every day that a new publisher is announced, so there was a lot of interest when Koch Media, the parent company of Deep Silver, announced Prime Matter Publishing. While the announcement of a new Dead Island game isn’t going to be at E3, it seems like Prime Matter will pick up some of the other slack of other franchises with a tease for a new Payday game.
Payday the Heist is a co-op PvE game featuring four players performing various heists for those unfamiliar with the franchise. Whether it’s stealing from banks or raiding the White House, the Payday crew seems to get it done. Payday 2 was released back in 2013 and has been given a steady supply of DLC, collaborating with John Wick, Hotline Miami, and Hardcore Henry. Now, according to the Prime Matter Showcase from Koch Media, Payday 3 is real, and it’s coming to PC in 2023.
According to the information given during the Koch Primetime Event, Payday 3 is going to be bigger than the last game, and the story will take place right after Payday 2, putting the career criminals past the point of no return, with the character’s being watched by not only the law but the criminal underworld as well. Starbreeze, the developers being Payday 3 has stated that the game is “the next chapter and an evolution of the franchise.” They’re also aiming to create a “Fully-fledged social heist universe”
The official Logline for the newest entry in the Payday Franchise is: “Payday 3 is a high-octane, first-person co-op shooter game, set in a Hollywood-like environment that lets players live out the fantasy of being a world-class career criminal who joins the legendary Payday gang and masters the art of heisting.”
Fans should keep their eyes peeled for more information as it’s going to be a long two years before they can get their hands on Payday 3 when it launches sometime in 2023.
